Zinc Ingots

Product Detail

Zinc Ingots

Zinc ingots are solid blocks of refined zinc metal, produced through smelting and purification processes. They are widely used in industries such as galvanizing, die-casting, alloy manufacturing, and chemical production. Zinc ingots are known for their corrosion resistance, malleability, and excellent conductivity, making them essential in various industrial applications.

Specifications:

Specifications vary depending on the grade and intended use of the ingots. Below are general parameters:

  • Purity: Typically ranges from 99.5% to 99.995% Zn (High-purity zinc available for specific applications).
  • Metal Composition:
    • Zinc (Zn): 99.5% – 99.995%
    • Lead (Pb): ≤ 0.003%
    • Iron (Fe): ≤ 0.002%
    • Cadmium (Cd): ≤ 0.003%
    • Copper (Cu): ≤ 0.001%
  • Form: Rectangular or trapezoidal ingots, typically weighing 5kg – 25kg per ingot.
  • Packaging: Bundled with steel straps, stacked on wooden pallets, or bulk packed.

Grades of Zinc Ingots:

  1. SHG (Special High-Grade) Zinc Ingots: 99.995% purity, used in galvanizing, battery production, and chemicals.
  2. HG (High-Grade) Zinc Ingots: 99.95% purity, commonly used in die-casting and alloying.
  3. Zinc Alloy Ingots: Contain controlled amounts of aluminum, copper, or magnesium for specific industrial applications.

Applications:

  • Galvanizing Industry: Used to coat steel and prevent corrosion.
  • Die-Casting: Used to manufacture automotive, electrical, and mechanical components.
  • Brass & Bronze Manufacturing: Used as an alloying element.
  • Battery Production: Essential in alkaline and zinc-carbon batteries.
  • Chemical Industry: Used in the production of zinc oxide, zinc sulfate, and other compounds
