Copper wire scrap

Product Detail

Copper wire scrap

Copper wire scrap consists of recycled or discarded copper wires, which are highly valued for their high conductivity, purity, and recyclability. It is commonly classified based on its cleanliness, insulation, and alloy content. High-purity grades are preferred for remelting and reuse in electrical, industrial, and manufacturing applications.

Specifications:

Specifications vary depending on grade and recycling requirements. Below are general parameters:

  • Purity: 90% – 99.99% Cu (varies by grade)
  • Common Grades:
    • Millberry: Clean, uncoated, high-purity copper wire (≥ 99.9% Cu)
    • Berry: High-quality unalloyed copper wire with minimal oxidation (≥ 99% Cu)
    • Candy: Copper wire with slight oxidation but no significant impurities (≥ 98% Cu)
    • Birch/Cliff: Copper wire with minor brass or contamination (≥ 94% Cu)
    • Insulated Copper Wire (ICW): Copper wire covered with plastic or rubber insulation (Cu content varies)
  • Impurities:
    • Iron (Fe): ≤ 0.5%
    • Lead (Pb): ≤ 0.5%
    • Zinc (Zn): ≤ 1%
    • Tin (Sn): ≤ 0.5%
  • Form:
    • Stripped or unstripped wire
    • Coiled, chopped, or loose
    • Thick or thin gauge wires
